The most valuable monument of the cathedral, the Renaissance Bakócz Chapel, is the most beautiful of Hungary's few surviving Renaissance works. Tamás Bakócz (1442-1521) was a cardinal archbishop and chancellor with enormous wealth and influence. His red marble tomb chapel was designed by Andrea Ferrucci from Florence, and he also carved the white Carrara marble altar.
It is located 360m from the pension, 5 minutes on foot.
